Recently, Skyscanner, a leading global travel search engine analyzed its two years’ worth of travel search data from over 60 million monthly users to revert the one question that haunts every traveler – When is the best time to book flights?

A survey done on Indian travelers recently bared open the fact that 72% of them have no idea on how to get the best deal on flight tickets. About 69% of travelers incorrectly estimate the air fares and are not aware that if you plan your trip before 12 weeks, you can grab the best deal on flight tickets. In fact, the travelers who plan in advance are taking up this opportunity and saving a lot of travel expenses.

Did you know that traveler’s eyeing up Bali for their summer trip can save up to 51% on flight tickets? They just have to book 25 weeks in advance. Otherwise, they risk paying 27% more than the average fare. The same trend appears for air fares to Indian traveler’s favorite summer destinations. Traveler’s looking to vacation in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok can grab flights for 35% and 33% less than the average fare, respectively, when booking 24 weeks prior to departure.

Book 24 weeks in advance for a European summer vacation.

If you are planning a trip to Europe or the USA during their summer vacations, Skyscanner recommends you to book 24 weeks in advance to grab the best deal on flight tickets that can save you 22% and 18% respectively.

Skyscanner also reveals the most inexpensive months to travel to visit some of Indian travelers’ favorite locations. November is the cheapest month to travel to Bangkok. Flights are 10% cheaper than the average fare. On the other hand, visa-friendly Bali can be best enjoyed in April; you can save 10% on the average fare.
